A neo-Gothic style clock tower located just outside the city walls, the Guildhall dates from 1887. It was named after the London guilds, and originally opened in 1890 by The Honourable Irish Society, before being razed to the ground in 1908. Rebuilt, and refurbished after 2 bombings in 1972, the Guildhall remains one of the most striking attractions in the North West. The 13 foot clock is the 4th largest in Ireland, using the Westminster chime every hour. The building houses one of Europes most spectacular organs, located in the concert hall.
