Map
The Ponderosa is known as "The Highest Pub in Ireland". Situated on the Glenshane Pass in County Derry, on the main road to Belfast, the pub enjoys tremendous mountain views of the Sperrins, and sits at an altitude of over 900 feet. The Ponderosa was traditionally a small farmhouse resting in the mountains, catering for travellers across the country. Over the years, the pub has encountered many interesting characters, and has released a series of books entitled "Tales from the Ponderosa", which have been featured by the BBC. The stories are free to take home as souvenirs.
