This historic castle has been the home of the Bishops of Durham for over 800 years, and today is the Bishop’s official residence. The historic building, with its magnificent Chapel, Throne Room and Long Dining Room, is already the administrative centre for the Diocese, and a notable tourist attraction, as well as being the Bishop’s home.
