This beautiful piece of architecture is without a doubt one of the centrepieces of this small and interesting village in the Northumbria countryside. The medieval castle was enlarged in the 17th Century to make a mansion house in which the great and the good of the region have lived throughout the years. On occasion the hall hosts a variety of arts exhibitions on a range of themes.
