Billingham is a town in the Tees Valley, now largely connected to Stockton-on-Tees, and close to Middlesbrough. It was famously the base of the large-scale ICI works, which thrived throughout most of the 20th century, but are now mostly gone. The town was also home to the first combined shopping centre. It has a large theatre and sports complex known as the Forum.

  Latest Billingham Review

Billingham is situated in the area of County Durham. It has a rich manufacturing history dating back to the first World War. It is easily reached from the A19 and is close to Middlesbroguh. In the town there is a shopping centre with a good selection of popular retail chains. We like to sample tradition when we vist new places, so we visited the market on a Monday (it also takes place on a Friday) and enjoyed browsing around the stalls and meeting the locals.   - Gordon
