For railway enthusiasts this is one of the real treats of the region as it is the only place in the country where it is possible to see a rope haulage system in place on a standard gauge railway. There are fine Victorian workshops that are typical of those that would have been commonplace during the age of steam. There are many artefacts and demonstrations to see and get involved with, making for a great day out for all the family.
