Cherryburn is the birthplace of a great artist. Thomas Berwick, Northumberland’s greatest wood engraver, was born here in 1753. Famous for his illustration of birds, animals and country life, his work has influenced naturalists and wildlife artists throughout the world. Regular painting demonstrations take place and there are Folk in the Farmyard events on Sunday afternoons, when you can enjoy traditional music, song or dance. There is an excellent picnic area and a toy corner for smaller visitors.
