Edlingham is a pretty, historic village in Northumberland, close to Alnwick and Newcastle. It has a lovely location in a river valley, with moorland all around and a scenic railway viaduct running through. Edlingham’s main attraction is a ruined castle which is open to the public.

  Latest Edlingham Review

Edlingham is a small village in the North of England (Northumberland) and the larger towns of Alnwick and Rothbury are close by. This is the ideal base from which to explore Alnwick Castle and hike through the countryside through Rothbury. Within Edlingham is a castle that dates back to the 15th Century and I found its history fascinating. I imagine that it was quite beautiful in its day. I love that villages like this still exist.   - Christine
