Lead mining was an important industry in the North of England for a great many decades, and lots of people and communities relied on this for sustenance. This museum looks at the history of the industry and the way that it developed through the ages and eventually began to decline again. There are exhibits that show the conditions that people had to work in, and how hard it was to mine here.
