Maelmin Heritage Trail is located close to the village of Milfield in Northumberland. The trail consists of three reconstructions dating from different periods of history. The carved wooden henge is a replica of a mystical focus point that existed 4,000 years ago. The Dark Age hut is a reconstruction of a farmer's dwelling from approximately 500 AD. The Mesolithic hut is a replica of a 10,000 year old dwelling and was specially constructed for the BBC TV programme, Meet the Ancestors.
