A small County Durham town famous for the St Edmund's Church with its unique ornate 17th century Cosin woodwork which is unique to County Durham. As the seat of former Prime Minister Tony Blair, the town became famous from the mid 1990s and has been visited by many famous people since including George Bush while president. This fame however hasn't affected the quaint olde-English nature of what is essentially a small rural town.

  Latest Sedgefield Review

Sedgefield is in County Durham in the North East of England. We visited the racecourse here and we had a fantastic time. We stayed on the outskirts of Durham city centre where there is a number of hotels or B&Bs to choose from. There are plenty of things to see and do apart from horse racing. Explore Durham with its beautiful cathedral and picturesqu river. Browse the shops and eat and drink in the city square.   - Richard
