The Stephenson Railway Museum allows visitors to re-live the great age of steam, enjoying a range of pioneering steam technology under one roof. At the centre of the collection is the famous Stephenson’s ‘Billy’ the early forerunner of the ‘Rocket’. Many other engines are on show in the museum including the ‘Jackie Milburn’ named after the Newcastle United Football Club legend.
