We wanted to visit the city of Newcastle but did not want to stay in the hustle and bustle of the city centre so we chose a B&B in Stocksfield on the outskirts. Stocksfield is close to the River Tyne where we enjoyed a river cruise and admired the famouse Millennium Bridge. It is easily accessible by car from the A1 and has its own railway stations. There is a sprawling golf course and the Northumberland countryside is right on the doorstep.
