There are very few megalithic tombs that have been discovered in the British Isles, and this is certainly up there as one of the finest of those. This place is a deeply important piece of heritage for the region and helps us to understand the practices of civilisations who came here such as the Vikings, many thousands of years ago, when the British Isles were a very different place.
