Visited Autumn 2011. Was the highlight of my first visit to Orkney. As Radio was a hobby of mine from the 1950s - the discovery of the museum was thrilling! The display of sets, particularly the ex-military ones which were my bread & butter as a school boy, was most impressive. Well laid out, the sets brought back floods of memories. However, most importantly, any museum becomes sterile without enthusiastic volunteers to keep it alive. The gentleman on duty during my visit was a breath of fresh air. Between us, we put modern electronics in its place, especially regarding Hi-Fi, and shared great stories about the golden age of real radio and audio. Altogether an unforgettable experience.
