All Saint’s Church in the quiet village of Loose just outside of Maidstone in Kent dates from the 13th Century. It occupies a site perced on the side of a hill overlooking a valley. The original church was badly damaged by a fire allowing the Victorians to change a great deal of the interior. All Saint’s Church also has a Napoleonic connection, Richard Boys, a vicar at Loose was once chaplain to Napoleon during his exile on St Helena.
