I love exploring manmade lakes and reservoirs and Ardingly, at around 200 acres, is one of the largest in the South East. The River Ouse was dammed here to hold back a large amount of water. Today the lake is home to a huge variety of wildlife, whilst sailing lessons can be had at the local activity centre. If you're feeling energetic, you can also walk down one side of the lake but sadly not a complete circuit as the land on the other side is in private hands.
