The small town of Alyesham, near Canterbury in Kent, grew up around the coal mining industry in Kent and many of the earliest buildings in the community reflect this including Aylesham Baptist Church. The foundation stone for the building was laid by Mr Charles Lefevre, Secretary of the Canterbury Baptist Church on Thursday 8 December 1927. The church continues to hold regular services and also serves as a base for the local Boy’s Brigade organisation.
