There is very little doubt that this is one of the best and most important collections of Chinese ceramics anywhere in Britain. Associated with the University of Sussex, the collection is often used as a teaching aid, and is open to the public throughout the year. Several thousand years of Chinese history and art are on display in this impressive and beautiful environment. Once the private collection of Alan Barlow the many artefacts were gifted to the university in 1974.
