On a site overlooking the English Channel not far from Folkestone, the Battle of Britain Memorial honours the men who died defending Britain from the German Luftwaffe in September 1940. The complex has two full scale replicas of a Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker's Hurricane fighters as well as a history centre telling the story of the Battle. Refreshments and toilets are also available.
