Beachy Head, situated to the west of Eastbourne’s picturesque seafront, is one of Sussex’s most famous tourist attractions. The cliffs rise 162 metres (530 feet) above the sea below and offer amazing, panoramic views in both directions. To the east is Eastbourne’s beaches, town and pier and on a clear days, visitors can see 40 miles along the coast to Dungeness in Kent. To the west, views extend 70 miles, almost to Chichester, and occasionally the Isle of Wight on exceptionally clear days.

Beachy Head is rightly one of Eastbourne’s most famous coastal landmarks. Its white chalk cliffs rise over 500 feet up from the Channel, giving a dramatic back drop to some amazing views of Eastbourne and the surrounding countryside. There are a number of footpaths and trails which take in Beachy Head, as well as a car park across the road from the cliffs. Beachy Head is one of the most memorable spots on the Downs and well worth a visit if you are in the area. It does get jolly windy though, so not for the faint hearted if there’s a breeze.
