Bearsted residents gathered together to save a precious 16 acre strip of land from being developed into houses and established the Bearsted Woodland Trust. Today the 16 acres are cared for by volunteers with funding from the National Lottery, ITV and other charitable organisations. Access to the site is unrestricted and free and there are plenty of pleasant walks that you can enjoy.
