Bexhill Rowing Club was first established during Victorian times when young men eager for a challenge pitted themselves against the waves of the English Channel and also a time keeper’s clock. During the early years only gentry were allowed to row but over the years the membership requirements have changed considerably. Today men and women can join the rowing club and experience rowing as a sport or as a personal challenge or simply for exercise.
