Bognor Regis Pier, unlike many Victorian piers, was built with private money and local people. It was completed in 1865. Undoubtedly, the pier has seen better days and is now desperately in need of extensive refurbishment. Nevertheless, for those visitors interested in Victorian history and architecture it is still worth seeing and is a Grade II listed building. There is an amusement arcade that is popular with adults and children alike and the pier offers excellent views of Bognor beach and the Sussex coast. The pier is also home to the Birdman Rally which is famous for its crazy stunts.
