It's not very well known but close to Victoria Park there is a very small area of wetland that is eco-managed by the local council. This wetland and others nearby is known as the Ashford Green Corridor.

Bowen's Field Wetland Park is a large pond with reed beds. We take the grandchildren here a few times in a year with the dog on a leash.
