Broadway Bridge was designed in 1874 by the London engineer, Sir Joseph Bazalgette. Today, it’s strewn with a permanent interactive artwork, called Light Elements, which consists of multi-coloured lights that change colour on demand - instructions are near the bridge. The installation is part of a Maidstone Council arts project. Elemental - Walk of Art brings permanent and temporary contemporary art to 8km of the River Medway. Light Elements was created by Peter Freeman.
