The museum is housed in a former 18th Century corn store, and its collection tells the story of Chichester and District from geological times up to the present day. The museum also runs a lively programme of events including changing temporary exhibitions, walks and talks as well as family and childrens activities. The museum also runs the Guildhall, a rare surviving chancel of a Franciscan Friary church. The building was later used as a courtroom where William Black was tried for sedition in 1804.
