We have visited Dover Museum a number of times and really enjoy it. The key exhibit is the Bronze Age Boat, which is awesome. There is also a really good interactive display about the preservation techniques and excavation process, as well as information and displays about life in the Bronze Age. There are plenty of displays regarding Dover’s colourful past as a key maritime port and defensive military location. The Museum regularly holds “Family Days” where a range of activities designed for children are laid on, usually around an historic theme. There are also occasional exhibitions. We went to one on toys of the past century or so, which included lots of hands on toys to try. I really recommend it as a family day out.
