Eastbridge Hospital of St Thomas the Martyr has been providing hospitality to visitors for 800 years. It was founded after the murder of St Thomas Becket in 1170 as accommodation for pilgrims visiting his shrine. Today's visitors can join a tour and see the fully restored sleeping quarters, dining rooms and chapels. Highlights include the Chantry Chapel, the Undercroft, which has handsome Gothic arches, and a 13th-century mural in the dining room.
