Faversham Stone Chapel is the only church in the whole of England to incorporate within its fabric the remains of a 4th Century Romano-British pagan mausoleum. The chapel is close to where historians and archaelogists believe there may have been a whole Roman community. The church is damaged in many places, but the restoration work undertaken by English Heritage has highlighted many of the original features.
