The Fisherman's Museum is housed in an old church that was built down in the fishing quarter for the specific use of seamen in the mid 19th Century. The museum was opened much later as a way of preserving much of the traditional fishing communities history which is slowly being lost by modern practice. The museum is home to a fine collection of paintings, documents and artefacts that chart the history of fishing in Hastings.
