I really like Folkestone, although it is a long way from its heyday as a cross channel port. In recent years the town has redeveloped itself as a seaside tourist resort with a wide range of boutique and quaint shops and restaurants, particularly around the harbourside. Watch out for the towns unusual one way system, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy to understand.
