This French post box is quite a surprising sight on a British high street. It was presented to the people of Hove by the mayor of the town's French twin Draveil. The box was installed after a public ceremony on the 23rd April 1994 and ever since then has been open as a fully working post box in Hove, with Royal Mail collecting from it as usual. The box attracts attention from all newcomers to the town and is quite the talking point.
