George Augustus Westphal was a great military man, sailor and hero of the era in which he lived. He was aboard Nelson's flagship HMS Victory when the great admiral met his end. Westphal's influence in the military and political climate of the late 18th and early 19th Century cannot be underplayed. He lived in Hove in this fine house close to his beloved sea.
