Glynde Place is a wonderful Elizabethan manor house that is set right in the heart of the South Downs. It is the family home of Viscount and Viscountess Hampden whose forebears built the house in 1569 with a mixture of flint and stone from Caen in Normandy. The house contains portraits, furniture, embroidery, silver and books that testify to 400 years of family life.
