The Goodnestone Park Gardens in the small Kent village of Goodnestone are world famous and claim a connection with the famed Victorian writer Jane Austin. The gardens were established soon after Brook Bridges bought the manor house around which they are laid out in the late 17th Century. Over the centuries that have followed the gardens are remained much the same as they were originally laid out but in 1844 extensive restorations were carried out.

I couldn't agree more with a Daily Telegraph columnist who described these gardens as 'A haven of beautiful tranquillity hidden away in south east Kent'. They are truly spectacular in the sunshine and date back to the 17th Century. In fact speaking to one of the gardeners at Goodnestone he assured me that much of what you see is as it would have appeared four centuries ago. Wonderful stuff.
