To one side of Gravesend’s Cascades Leisure Centre can be found Gravesend Miniature Railway. The miniature railway is owned and operated by the Gravesend Model Marine and Engineering Society that was founded in 1953. Throughout the summer months on Sundays the society regularly offers children, of all ages, the opportunity to ride on large scale model steam engines. The Society also stage special days on Bank Holidays and special events such as Halloween and Christmas for the Santa specials.
