Hastings Pier is one of the centrepieces of the seafront in this charming east Sussex coastal town. Built in 1872, the pier shares designer with Brighton's West Pier, Eugunius Birch. Although the pier has had many problems in recent years with restoration, the structure is still a popular tourist attraction. There are plans for several new shopping and entertainment arcades on the pier.
