The village of Headcorn, halfway between Ashford and Maidstone, has been home to the Methodist Society for many years. Headcorn has always been a farming community and many of the farmers chose to follow the Methodist teachings. The first recorded religious chapel in the village was found in village records to have been started in 1805. This church continued in use for a further fifty years until replaced in 1854. The current church on the High Street in Headcorn was erected in 1867.
