This museum explores the history and heritage of Herne Bay from Victorian resort through World War to the present day. A highlight is the prototype of the bomb made famous by the Dambusters of World War II. The bouncing bombs were tested just east of here at Reculver. Other attractions include Roman and Saxon finds, also from Reculver, and fossils ranging from mammoth tusks to sharks’ teeth. An art gallery exhibits local views by local artists, and holds regular exhibitions.
