At one time Herne Windmill, a quite noticeable feature of the local landscape, would have been working away, providing productivity and essential service to this community. Today, the mill is a tourist attraction and a reminder of an industrial heritage that no longer exists here. Visitors are invited inside the mill to see how it worked and what the conditions would have been like to work in.
