HMS Cavalier is the last wartime Royal Navy destroyer that helped win the Battle of the Atlantic. She later served the nation until withdrawn from service in the late 1970’s having sailed every ocean. Most of the ship is open to the public to view including the crew spaces and gun turrets. Today the ship is a permanent memorial to the men who died in the Second World War with the Historic Dockyard Chatham.
