Visitors to Bexhill on Sea in East Sussex who walk along the very pleasant promenade often ask locals about what appears to be a clock tower. The clock tower in Bexhill is actually a memorial to King Edward VII. The monument was started in 1902 to mark his coronation to the throne of Great Britain but took another two years to complete by which time the King had already been on the throne for quite some time.
