The Millennium River Park is actually a 10km parkway along the River Medway. Beginning in Teston Country Park and ending in Cobtree, it takes in three acclaimed pedestrian bridges, 1,500 new trees, an amphitheatre in a wood and a wildflower meadow. The Park was created as part of Maidstone's millennium celebrations and funded in part by the National Lottery. Work began after the terrible Medway floods of 1998.
