The Millennium Rock was placed on the edge of the priory by the local authority to mark the beginning of the 21st Century. The large rock which has a small plaque on it explaining its significance is a piece of metamorphic rock which is thought to be well over 2000 years old and therefore is appropriate to celebrate the year 2000. The rock is situated close to the museum and library.
