Napoleon Bonaparte described the British as a nation of shopkeepers and this museum charts the many forms of shop that have existed over the centuries. The museum has a great selection of different exhibits from actual shop fronts that have been recovered to displays of old shops including the grocer, the wartime shop and the chemist to name but a few.
