Painshill Park is one of the most important 18th Century parks in Europe. Created by the Hon Charles Hamilton between 1738 and 1773 as a series of carefully designed views - the Hamilton landscapes - with ruined abbey, working vineyard, Gothic Temple, Crystal Grotto, Chinese Bridge, Hermitage, 18th Century shrubberies and more. The American Roots Exhibition explores the 18th Century exchange of plants between Europe and America. The story of how American seeds changed European gardens forever. NCCPG Award Full Collection Status for the John Bartram Heritage Plant Collection. There is a teashop & giftshop. Open all year except Christmas & Boxing Day.
