The historic medieval town of Pevensey in East Sussex is a wonderful reminder of how England was in the past. Helping to bring this interesting period to life is Pevensey Courthouse Museum. The museum is housed in the old 16th Century courthouse on the High Street and tours of this building are available from 1 May to 30 September. The tours show visitors the development of Pevensey, a variety of artifacts and the two prisoner’s cells in the courthouse itself.
Fascinating old building, with its iron spiked high wall outside, and nearby castle (with dungeon). Highly recommended - certainly one of the few sights to see in Pevensey - Rob
