Originally built during the 16th Century but added to during the 17th Century, this red brick house was the childhood home of General James Wolfe, famed for leading his British troops to victory over the French at the Battle of Quebec in 1759. Each of the Georgian style rooms display furniture and other items that belonged to the Wolfe family during this era, and the Tudor stable block contains a detailed exhibition of the General’s military career, with particular reference to the battle he is most remembered for.
