Queenborough is a small town on the Isle of Sheppey, named for the queen of King Edward III. He granted Queenborough a charter in 1366. Queenborough Harbour lies between the Thames and Medway. Admiral Lord Nelson had a house near the harbour which he shared with Lady Hamilton . Most of Queenborough’s historic buildings date from the 18th Century, although the church is a medieval survivor.

Queenborough's connection with the sea also extend as far as Lord Horatio Nelson who learnt to sail in the River Medway and shared a house with Lady Hamilton in the town.   - Patrick Boniface
